About
My name is Lorrie; artist, free spirit, old soul, young heart, mother to
daughter Orla and wife to Luke.
I come from Aylesbury in Buckinghamsire. I trained in the 1980's at
Amersham College of Art, undertaking a Foundation Programme in
Art & Design and a Diploma in Art & Design, then studied BA Fashion/Textile Design + Women's Studies at the University of East London. In the late 90's, and early 2000, I gained an International Diploma in Adminstrative Management and an HNC in Business Studies, from Chichester College of Arts, Science and Technology. I also studied web design and undertook an intensive CIW course in London in 2003.
I moved down to the coast from London in the mid 1990s, and I now live with my family on the South Coast of the UK, in a village just outside Chichester. We live just up the road from the beach and within the South Downs of West Sussex.
I specialise in drawing, painting, fibre art and photography using tools both traditional and digital, including ink, pencil, pastels, paints, embroidery, photography. My work is generally abstract in nature, and includes many artistic influences, from the Baroque and Rococco to contemporary Pop Art. Taking my inspiration from nature principally, and the world directly around me, I spend a lot of time on the beach where I live and am inspired by the sea and all things without and within. I sell my work online mostly, and undertake commision work.
